TITHING: GODS FINANCIAL PLAN FOR YOU Learning To Be a Giver (1st of 2 parts) One of the most fundamental aspects of Gods nature is that He practices the way of love and of giving. God is the great- est giver in the universe. A giving approach to life will result in many blessings and benefits that God desires us to enjoy. We need to understand more fully the important role that tithes and offerings play in developing the attitude of giving. In proverbs we find a most important key to material success. Proverbs 3: 9 Honour the LORD with thy sub- stance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Jesus taught us about a giving person will ultimately receive in accordance with the way that he gives. Luke 6: 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. And Apostle Paul also taught us. 2 Corinthians 9: 6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. God is not concerned about the amount that we give, but, more concerned about our state of mind. 2 Corinthians 8: 12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. 2 Corinthians 9: 7 Every man according as he pur- poseth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
