TITLE: Complicated Love Story With My School Mum EPISODE: 7 AUTHOR: Prince That very night was a sleepless night for me, because my mother didnt allow the whole compound to have peace of mind. When my mum observes that my face had swollened more more, she shouted distracting all the tenants. I couldnt do anything but relaxing on the soft couch,and watch her shouting untill veins appeared on her neck. Lateron my mother became tired of talking she barge into her room and relaxed herself on bed, and later she slept off. I moved into my own bedroom and throw myself on the bed, I was still on the foam awoken while thinking about how Uduak mothers silly actions during that afternoon when i got there. By 2:00am in the morning i was hungry, and i headed towards the kitchen to serve myself food to eat, but When i got there it appears that all the pots of food where empties. Na were my mum hide food na? i said while moving toward the pots storage to searched for food. I opened a pots they appeared cleaned and empty . many absurd thoughts came into my mind that night. I finally headed back to my room, thats how I remembered that my mother didnt cooked, she abandoned the cooking to take care for me by dressing all my wounds. I slept that morning with empty belle untill when it Was time for breakfast. I havent forgotten about school for once apart from the few days i spent at home due to the pains my the punishment, But with my injured face i had determinations of attending school. The following week i promised myself to be at school no matter what happens. I reached to school late again, but i wasnt punished because the seniors who were in-charge of post that day saw my swollened face condition without me informing them they understood the huge pains feeling. My walkin movement was damn! terrific, i actually cat-walked to school because i was unable to move well or perfectly. One senior saw the sight of my face, and he interrogated the other senior that was standing close to him. oh boy! Na bee bit that boy for him eye ? one of the seniors questioned without being specific, he tap the other dude by his side, but the young man ignored him. your papa. You wont pretend you didnt hear me. Would you? pinched the other guy who didnt had no concerned. as you see the boy the go why wouldnt you ask him yourself, or abi na me the bee bit? the other senior answered him back & They started cursing theirselves playfully, while focusing. I got to my classroom after id settle down i asked Emeka if any test was written when i stayed absent from school. idiotttt you no fit talk? i had insulted him when he didnt respond immediately no test was taken, but it was announced in the assembly last week that the test will start this week Emeka informed me. I question him about Uduak where about, and Emeka informed me she hasnt been in school for days. when i was about opening my lock desk ubong approached towards whispered. oga! Lover boy, your wife has been badly brutalize by nobody Ubong announced while smiling and he swiftly moved to his desk. I recalled everything that happened to her and i jolted quickly, throwing my locker keys aside... i havent seen her! i mentioned in my heart,and ran outside with full agility to check on Miss Grace I walked towards Miss Grace room door and lightly knocked on it. Miss Grace question who the person was and i pronounced my name and She invited me in. Grace was sitting on a stool peeping through the window, while her back faced towards my direction ,but When she turned to face oppositely she shouted out loud and saw marks on her face. madam!, What happened to your face? i asked boldly. off course you knew what happened to me Grace explained while maintaining the same sitting post. yah! I remember exactly what happen id mentioned while nodding my head. She looked at me and gazed wildly towards me in suprised. Grace jolted up from her seat and approached me. Prince what happen to your eyes? she requested with her sincere & passionate voice. na the same hand were slap you that day slap me too id replied immediately. I explainned smiling but my swallon eyes wouldnt allow me grin any longer. Grace was shocked because she thought that Uduak mother wouldnt do this against me. Grace acknowledged Uduak and me were best of friends,She instructed me to assist arranged some file stuff before returning my class. School that day was a little hectic &stressful , I reached my home lately feeling tried as my body pain greatly increased. I ate my afternoon meal before picking up my economic textbook and relaxed myself on a wooden bench outside the outskirt compound while reading for my preparation on the upcoming test. Throughout that very evening id no passion for engaging myself in doing house works,reading, or helping my mother on what shed intended preparing. On one blissful hour of the brighten day i avoided doin nothing except sleeping. I indulge myself in sleeping throughout that whole day thinking about how to tackle the principals test which would commence the next day. Quiet i was dreaming with grieve and disbelieve that wont make it perfect or succeed on my test score grade to make my school mother praise me. The thought of Uduak struck my mind and i began thinking the more, My brains were calculating in a clock wise motion, differed thoughts ran into my already occupied head. Meanwhile, i havent seen Uduak for the past 3 good days and so thought about her, i planned visiting her place. I kindly lose stressful thoughts away from my mind, & advanced closer towards my mother asked her for a favor. mother i would like to meet Uduak at her place to informed her of the coming up test tomorrow id announced while struggling with my wetted palms. what?, but why. my mum questioned me instantly looking so worried. my mother faced me immediately, actually her face expressed something else like youre not leaving this house today. she stood quiet the sign i saw written on her face started fading. I maintain peace and pleaded playfully wit my mother telling her that i needed informing Uduak,since she didnt attend school. My mother hesitated for sometimes before she permitted me to do what i favored. It pleases me that my Uduak was at home the moment i arrived her apartment, She doesnt stays at home always because she either help her mother in the farm or she goes to the market whenever she returns back from her school. I was lucky to meet her that moment at her home but her respons were hurting She was sitting freely under palm fruit tree in her compound recieving the natural God gift air. I quickly approached where she had relax and greeted but she wouldnt answer me. hey!, Uduak what are you doing here ? i asked when i saw her holding a book. I moved closely to hear her reply. im dancing Uduak answered, looking up to me with disgust. Uduak stood up and entered into their house and later she returns with wooden chair. erm....,am not here to stay for long. I came here to inform you about the test tomorrow on economics. id spoken while standin Uduak picked up the the wooden chair without uttering any words,she returned it back where she took it from. She acted that day strangely and upset against me, i couldnt understand what happened. Maybe she was angry because our principal test always reward failures with canes..... Uduak sat down and greeted me good bye after she had returnd from where she went to drop the chair. I couldnt pronounced speech tho, i humbly faced the direction id came, and headed towards the direction of my home. The following morning was shining brighter as the sun appeared it little face in the dusty cloud. I jumped down from my foam quickly for the morning cleaning, before thinking about school. Perhaps, its another wonderful morning, I prayed and after my prayers i hurriedly walked outside the compound to sweep. On that day of our first test, before i arranged for school and Uduak approached where i stood. Uduak pleads & narrated why shed acted annoyantly against me, She went further to explained how her mother abused her for been careless and lazy when she adjusted all doors open yesterday morning before both of them went to the farm. I sympathized with Uduak and forgiven her for displaying bad characters when i visited. Before Uduak embark on leaving i kindly accompanied her, we moved on the road chatting and laughing till when something bordering leaped into my mind. I couldnt maintain the stand of the mind thoughts, and i tried sharing the idea with Uduak that very moment. so tell me whats on your mind right now?.Uduak have you been thinkin the tests would be easier since principal took charge from Miss Grace? id questioned Uduak. Prince.., I aint no prophetess to know everything concernin what he would do on the test day, & I dont think so either. last night i have been wondering why Mr. Akpan had to take the subject from Grace. Uduak mentioned worriedly. Perhaps, Uduak utter the real facts with so much seriousness and truthfulness. apart from that your thinking abeg i the put my hope on you, throw expo oh! I announced while putting my arms on her shoulder. There after she starts laughing because i joked when informing her about the up coming tests &examinations. have you ever given me expo on your best subjects?, even when you had chances of sending me, youre always busy. Uduak ask bending her head towards my mouth to hear my replies. okay ill, but when next we have another tests or exams i had mentioned hoping to hear her replied me, but ignored the test talks and discussed another matters. I later dropped Uduak off, while i headed back home to prepare for school. After i accompanied Uduak I returned home and dressed for school. That very cool and freezing morning i was hoping to see no seniors will at the gate exist, since we were about writing test. I move forward closer to the gate for clear viewing in case i needed an escape. ermm... Prince come enter the school compound. You the peep because you just came to school late, abi? one senior instructed when he sighted me peeping. AH...! am sorry sen.. Senio... Senior, i.. I.. actually delayed for school, because i had to help my mother i stammered as i tried explaining my reasons why late. so na him make you come school today late again?he quickly questioned me rudely not like that senior. I am telling the truth I had to help my mum and thats why i came school late i replied shivering because i knew what the result would be like. The senior held my short, he lifted up a cane to flog me, as he was about flogging, a feminine voice ordered him to stop. MRS GRACE: Hey! Leave him alone, they have a test to write today SENIOR: ok madam, ill do just what you said. He released me. I greeted my school mum without looking at her face, I located my class block. emaka came to where i was seated and greet, oga mr grace hw far na?, omo na u go giv me somethin for dis test oh!, i hope say u go help me? when emaka said he was relying on me for expos, my brains started functioning properly that i didnt read thought out yesterday . I quickly walk outside with my note book, i got close to a school fence and seat on it. From a distances i could see my school mother, but i didnt allow all my attentions to focus on her. i open my note, look into it (actually i didnt know the pages to started reading, because it had many topics), before i could say JACK.... Sooner, a messdisbenz drove in to the school compound, and here came out mr Akpan from the car with three things in his hand, cane, a packet of chalk, and a piece of note. I jolted up from the fence and moved swiftly into my classroom. The moved i barge in the noisy class i shouted ....THE WORST IS YET TO HAPPEN.... All the students turn and gazed blankly at me...
