TITLE: GOD IS NOT MAD AT YOU by Pastor Wilmer Dimacutac 07-07-2013 Your view of God’s attitude toward you will determine the way you live and the love, joy, peace and victory (or lack of it) that you experience in your life. I . JESUS CAME TO LIFT, NOT TO CONDEMN. John 3:17-18 (NKJV) 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Isaiah 43:25(NIV) 25 “I,even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25 (MSG) 25 “But I, yes I, am the one who takes care of your sins—that’s what I do. I don’t keep a list of your sins. A . When God the Father looks at you, He looks at a righteous son or daughter, not a condemned sinner. B . The same life that is in Jesus Christ is the life that comes in you when you are born again. 1 . You have God’s life and nature. 2 . You have God’s faith and His spirit. II . GOD IS FOR YOU Romans 8:31-39 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. A . When you understand that God is for you and that He loves you unconditionally, you won’t have trouble believing Him for: 1 . Provision 2 . Guidance 3 . Protection 4 . Deliverance 5 . Healing III . YOU CAN ENJOY HEAVEN ON EARTH NOW Matthew 6:10 (NIV) 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. John 10:10 (AMP) 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). IV . PARABLE OF THE PRODIGAL SON Luke 15:11-24 (NIV) 11 Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.13 “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. A . Jesus shared the parable of the prodigal son to give a graphic picture of the Father’s view of those who have failed or have gone away from Him and are in backslidden condition. 1 . The father did not rehearse the wrongdoing. 2 . He restored the son to his rightful place in the family. 3 . The father’s action revealed love rather than condemnation. 4 . Settle it right now. God is not mad at you. He loves, accepts, and forgives you.
