TIZ PVT: Edgar Lungu 469,910 – Hichilema 350,023 Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has published results from 60 out of 150 constituencies in their Parallel Voter Tabulation showing the Patriotic Front candidate Edgar Lungu with an over 100, 000 lead ahead of the United Party for National Development Hakainde Hichilema. TIZ states that Lungu has so far amassed 469,910 while Hichilema is at 350,023. TIZ has cautioned media houses whether online or traditional against misrepresenting its tabulations Below is a statement and results so far counted from a total valid votes cast of 851,818. TIZ STATEMENT TIZ wishes to reiterate its position that it deployed monitors in a number of polling stations in the 150 constituencies, primarily at collation centers. It is our intention as TIZ to share information as we receive it from constituencies that have been duly declared by the Electoral Commission of Zambia for the purpose of promoting transparency in these presidential elections. Against this background, we wish to underscore that we have not speculated any PVT results today and instead we have been relaying on the officially declared results from constituencies. We want to advise members of the public not to be misled by any wrong statements attributed to TIZ. We advise all members of the public interested in the TIZ Parallel Voter Tabulation (PVT) to visit both our website tizambia.org.zm and Facebook page Transparency International Zambia ( facebook/tizambia) for correct factual information. We want to confirm our position that it is only the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) that will officially declare the results of the presidential elections.
