TL; DR dont let people stop you from doing your shit if you believe in it. Its funny how in 2010 people tried to convince me to not do all of this. And tried to give me advice like, Do you know running a con is hard? Yeah. That was (not) valuable. Why? Because I am a lot of things but I am not fn stupid. They can go and underestimate me somewhere else where it doesnt waste my time. My question to them is - Do you fully understand who I am? I would cut off my own arm if I thought it was the right thing to do and I am fully prepared to give 20 hours a day - personally. I always said that success is being the last person standing. I am not sitting down any time soon. All this work gave me HAMROIDS anyway. All caps. For 5 years now weve done right by people and even mentored many of our staff and helped them through very real problems in their lives and careers. The con doesnt end on Sunday. It hasnt been easy, but we are still standing and will continue to. No matter what changes - our inclusive beliefs and ethics WILL NEVER change. Elitism is for people who arent good at their jobs. Its a good thing I am not an evil warlord or something because dammmmmmmm.
