#TLDM Good Morning / Afternoon Loves! #RealTalk #Choice #Maturity #QBEntrepreneurialTip Today is another day to work on your vision, dreams and passion. In my mind they ALL go together. But what’s necessary in this process is your “word” which is associated with your character. Yesterday, we were discussing about how folk take liberties on your personal FB walls to ADVERTISE their personal business or services. It’s interesting how these liberties take place. Now mind you if the two of you have interacted frequently and there’s an understanding than that’s quite fine, for you have shared value. However, if that conversation has NOT taken place than that person has invaded in areas that they were not given permission and have exceed their “friend” limit. Please, they raided THE VAULT of ‘friend transgression.’ What I find interesting is that most times in the ‘business world’ this does NOT need any discussion. The boundaries are in place. Whereas, in the ‘church community’ it appears to be a free for all. I had an awesome business mentor, it was my grandfather, Walter J. Oliver. This man went as far as the 6th grade but his stuff was tight. He taught me “your word is your bond.” Meaning that’s all I have. Ladies and gents, I soon learned early on he was correct. I learned that not only did it apply in business but also in my personal life. I learned that eventually both are intertwined and one should NOT be able to separate one from the other. I learned that if I was NOT honest - - it would follow the concept that I could not be trusted on either plane, i.e. either playing field. Well if that is the case, why do many people miss this concept? I know of people who have spent YEARS building their reputation and honing and developing their craft. When they promise to deliver on goods they come through. These are the type of people you can recommend to others KNOWING they are in safe hands. You do not have to do follow up because they are bonded to their word. The reality is they GET IT! Goods = Value = Business = Follow up for MORE business. However, it’s a sad commentary when we turn to many in “Christian” leadership and see a total opposite venue. Sloppy work ethics abound and when a person is called upon it, others are quick to say no judging. Well the word tells me to examine fruit. Fruit should be evident. Fruit should be healthy and the person carrying the fruit should be able to take instruction. I’ve been told from an early age that I am organized. I have no idea why God gifted me with administration. I no longer question or ask why. You can give me a task and within minutes I see a clear path. Down through the years I used it to assist others, to sow into them to develop character. See, I learned its intertwined. What I love is if you ask someone OUTSIDE the church community about my work ethic you will soon learn that there is no disparity. I do not have one face for God and another for the world. So, if you cannot handle truth, work ethics or my bluntness when it comes to business than you should NOT be connected to me. I love knowledge and I’m a constant work in progress. I strive for excellence and consider the macro and micro connections to how we conduct our lives in the face of others who seek to not only learn from us but watch our actions. All it takes is an attempt at building a relationship. Relationship denotes trust and responsibility. Relationship means shared value and equity and when we do NOT agree we seek a solution. But just remember if there is NO relationship that means I don’t know you like that - - and that means you cannot take liberties until we have something concrete. Ahhh, we must BUILD TOGETHER. Please note, you cannot take liberties of me that you do NOT posses nor have earned. And apparently we live in a society where many think this is OK. I am here to explain to you that it is NOT OK. I’ll love you for your attempt but at the same time as an equal opportunity learner I WILL correct you. Dislike me, or like me and join me in the quest to strive for a better community of learners. It’s YOUR choice. I am here.
