#TLFSTORIES #3525 PROFS CONFESSION If you’re thinking that this might be one of your professors criticisms about your misbehaviors, youre wrong. This is just a one-sided love story of me with her, my former student. When I was still teaching, I always looked forward to attend my class every morning. I thought it was just a first-timer’s enthusiasm, but later, I realized that the real reason was her. She was my brightest student, intellectually and figuratively, and she had always made my day. Back then, I ignored my feelings to escape from the society’s disapproval of the kind of relationship that might exist between us—a teacher and a student, although it was really impossible for her to feel the same way as I felt. If I were to regret something because of her, it was when I was born a degree ahead from her; we could have been classmates, or even close friends. Currently, she’s on her third year taking up BS Chemical Engineering in your university. It is not surprising to learn that she’s one of the top students because she really has the potential. And as for me, I took another course which bridged the gap between us. I’m now also on my third year and will soon become an engineer, like her, someday. Although we’re miles (in reality, I really mean nautical miles, or even seas) apart, I still hope that when the right time comes for our parallel paths to meet in Modern Geometry, I can already present to her my solution for this complicated problem to express what I really wanted to say. By that time, I’ll no longer worry about what ethics forbids, for I am now a college student again and not her teacher anymore. ~prof\3rd year\Not From SLU
