TMC to do homework for panchayat polls MIRIK, 26 Apr 2014: During the months of June and July, the Trinamool Congress will concentrate on groundwork in preparation of the panchayat elections. Stating that the party is in favour of a two-tiered panchayat election in the hills, hill TMC president Rajen Mukhia said they will intensify activities for the elections after the announcement of the LS poll results. Mukhia also reiterated his confidence in TMC candidate Bhaichung Bhutia winning by a good margin. He said the BJP is not in favour of Gorkhaland and many people have voted against the GJM-backed BJP candidate. (EOIC)
