TN-SEN: Meet Terry Adams, Democratic Challenger to Sen. Lamar Alexander - Mar 12 Fundraiser (Video) byBoxMachineFollowforKnowledge Democrats 5 Comments / 5 New Im sorry. Did I miss something? Fundraiser for Terry Adams? Ive been conservative all these years and thats what Tennessians want. Senator Lamar Alexander isnt on the DSCCs radar from what Ive observed and may very well have the fortunate ability of incumbency status seeing as hes been U.S. Senator for Tennessee since 2003 and the state for some time has not been the most friendly state for Democrats. However, thats not stopping Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Terry Adams from holding a March 12th Fundraising and proceeding onward with his campaign amid all the odds. In case any of you live in Nashville or nearby and want to meet Terry Adams or see him in person, details of event are as follows: https://facebook/... NASHVILLE — Calling Congress broken, Knoxville attorney Terry Adams says he has filed to run as a Democrat in the 2014 U.S. Senate race. “After getting strong encouragement from a wide range of people around Tennessee, I have decided to enter this race,” the Navy veteran and entrepreneur said in a news release. “We think the time is right for someone with a unique profile to run and win this seat and to serve Tennessee.” Adams said “Washington is broken and we are not going to fix it by sending back the same people responsible for breaking it in the first place.” And heres a recent statement of Adams pointing out Senator Lamar Alexanders hypocrisy on veterans issues: knoxviews/... In what can only be called a veteran move, Senator Lamar Alexander has betrayed Tennessees veterans and embarrassed Tennessee once again. There are 500,000 veterans in Tennessee who have served, fought and bled for our nation, and Lamar Alexander is stabbing these heroes in the back for nothing more than partisan politics. This vital bill would have expanded access to veterans health and education services and provided new incentives for businesses to hire veterans after their service to our country without adding a single cent to the deficit, but Lamar Alexander voted, NO. Lamar Alexander voted against our veterans, against their families and against their future. Our veterans need a Senator with the backbone to stand up for our military families and do the right thing. Lamar Alexander failed the test once again. Hes proven hell put extremist Washington politics first every time, even at the expense of our nations veterans. Alexander voted against improving VAs claims system in part by requiring quarterly reports to Congress on efforts to eliminate a backlog of benefits claims by 2015. VA would have to detail both the projected and actual number of claims received, pending, completed and on appeal. Alexander voted against expanding access to education benefits for veterans and their survivors, including making recently-separated veterans eligible for tuition at the in-state rate and improving the level of benefits offered to survivors of certain service members killed on active duty. Alexander voted against ensuring that veterans receive consistent access to the benefits they have earned by establishing advanced appropriations for the mandatory accounts at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Alexander voted against renewing provisions from the VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2011, including a two-year extension for the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program. It just goes to show you if you spend too long in Washington, you lose all perspective and common sense. Exhibit A is Lamar Alexander. Hes become the very definition of politics as usual, and as a veteran, I am disgusted.
