TNA AND WRESTLE-1 BOUND FOR GLORY PRESS CONFERENCE News: TNAs Bound For Glory 2014 Press Conference With TNAs schedule event, Bound For Glory 2014 set to take place tonight, a press conference was held yesterday in which many WRESTLE-1 talent got to make some comments and answer questions from the press. - John Gaburick (Executive Vice President of TNA Wrestling) opened the press conference by saying that he was glad to continue the relationship with WRESTLE-1 and also to be able to bring the fans in Japan a live TNA experience made up of matches he hopes the wresting world will find exciting. Gaburick told the press that although it was difficult to hold such a show outside of their own company, the cooperation with WRESTLE-1 has really made for a smooth transition. When John was asked if it would be a Japanese or American style offered up on the show, Gaburick answered that it would be a fusion of both styles, as it is a fusion of both companies. - Ethan Carter III told the press that he was undefeated in singles competition, not being pinned or Submitted, only losing to himself via DQ. Carter was asked his impression of Ryota Hama, in which he said that Hama commanded a lot of respect and has been successful in his career, but most noticeably... He is BIG! Carter express a desire to win and to try and manhandle Hama, specifically, slamming him. - Ryota Hama said it was very impressive to be undefeated for such an amount of time, but that Carter has never gone against someone like him and that he will use his weight to full effect and take advantage of this method it squash Carter. - MVP said briefly that he knew who SAKAMOTO was and where he had been. MVP said he wants to wrap things up nice and quick with SAKAMOTO. - KAZMA SAKAMOTO, talking in English said that many people looked at his place of the card and thought it would be a victory for MVP, but SAKAMOTO insists that he will defeated MVP. - Manik reminded the press that when he came to Japan 12 years ago as a teenage (competing in NJPW as Puma) that Minoru Tanaka was he teacher and a great influence to him, but that now Manik has a different edge that Tanaka had no part in. When asked his impressions of Tanaka by the press Manik replied that he believes Tanaka to be one of the best Junior Heavyweights in the world, the same way he thought when he was a teenager and he was glad to have such a person to model himself after. Manik ended his comments by saying that he believes that he has exceeded Tanaka and looks forward to proving it to him, as the student surpasses the master. - Minoru Tanaka, also recalling the past, remembers competing in TNA previously in 2006 as a part of TNAs World X Cup while he was a NJPW roster member. Tanaka stated that he was excited to be able to showcase his abilities on an international stage to many different fans. - Havoc mentioned that it was her first time wrestling or visiting Japan and said that Japan had a great history of womens wrestling. She is glad to be here as a TNA Champion. - Velvet Sky make the short and direct comment that she will defeated Havok and wont stop until she does. - Brother Ray mentioned that they have wrestled in Japan many, many times and that most fans should be aware of them and their prestigious title history including NJPWs IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. - Devon added that they have also never been pinned or submitted in Japan over the many years that they have been coming. Devon also called attention to their title history in Japan, being multiple time tag team championship holders within the country. - Abyss said that for the first time he would be in his home promotion in Japan, but that it will not be an easy task to get the win, especially given Team 3Ds track record in Japan. - Tommy Dreamer admitted that this may be the last match in Japan for him and also commented on the decline of tag team wrestling in the America. Dreamer was also reminded of a classic bout in Japans history where a master-team of Terry Funk & Dory Funk Jr. took on two rough and rugged brawlers in the form of Stand Hansen & Bruiser Brody. Drawing similarities to his own upcoming encounter. - Samoa Joe exclaimed simply that he was THE champion of the X Division. - Low Ki commented that both Samoa Joe & Kaz Hayashi were at the top tier in the X Division class and that he was looking forward to facing off against the both of them. - Kaz Hayashi told the press that he was really glad to be involved with such top-level competitors as Samoa Joe & Low Ki, saying that he looks forward to proving that he belongs in the ring with them and showing the international fans what he can do and why he was put into the match. When Hayashi was asked how he felt about the X Division Championship Match, Kaz said that he thought the belt had a great history and the line-up for his match should lead to a great encounter. - Keiji Mutoh (Representing The Great Muta) mentioned a recent encounter between Muta & Sanada, a singles match a few months ago in which Muta defeated Sanada. Mutoh said that if Sanada has only slightly changed, that he could expect the same result. Mutoh continued stating that the PPV would be available in 150 counties and he said that such exposure will spawn many believers in The Great Muta all around the world. When Mutoh was then asked how much he knew of James Storm, he said he not aware of James Storm, and Muta is no present as to avoid an incident, but he could ask Muta and give an answer later. - TAJIRI followed up with the global exposure comment of Mutohs by saying that it is his first time on international PPV in 8 years and that he is very glad to be reaching such an international audience again. TAJIRI also spoke on the diversity to the show with many different talents sharing an event and working together to benefit everyone and put on a good show. TAJIRI also mentioned his trip to TNA two months ago in which he was defeated by the team of Storm & Sanada while teaming with Austin Aries. TAJIRI says he is not intimidated by the duo and he is sorry he lost on that occasion, but he plans on making up for it tonight - Seiya Sanada (Representing The Great Sanda) was conflicted as to what appearance to take in the upcoming match, saying that he can normally envision the match before it takes place, but he cant picture it this time, whether thats for the best, he does not know. But he has never competed as The Great Sanada before in Japan. All he knows is he is looking forward to the match. When asked what appearance is evolving which character, Sanada said that The Great Sanada was evolving Seiya Sanada and that he had to teach himself in different ways so that he can grow without restriction, with Keiji Mutohs career path being an obvious inspiration, asking if it comes or positive or negative, he doesnt know. For better or worse, he is committed to evolving. - James Storm, ended the conference by saying that if he said he was pleased to be in Japan, that he would be lying, since he doesnt eat Sushi and doesnt speak much Japanese, Storm says he is here for one reason only. To meet with The Great Sanada, who he has evolved from Seiya Sanada and has been taken under Storms wing. He is here to support his student and prove that Sanada is better than ever before under his influence as apposed to Mutohs.
