TNR #115, 116, 117 October 16, 2014 This family has a story and will not be returned but placed for adoption. Early in the spring, a black cat was dumped in between two colonies I feed. I tried to get her the day I first saw her. It was obvious she had been dumped and was afraid. I would only see her sporadically and then she would run. She ended up having kittens, not sure how many but only two remain. An older lady started feeding them and they started coming to her home on a regular basis. They remained very skittish and she was not able to touch them or gain their trust. I caught the two kittens Monday and had been trying all week to get mom. FINALLY got her this morning. As soon as she was in the trap and felt safe, she started making biscuits and talking. I am not sure how, but the kittens are very open to petting and very sweet! They have not had any human contact as this is the only house in the area. The female is super affectionate, purring and sucking on her blanket. The male is a little more shy but once I got under his chin....he melted like butter! This is something one must consider when trapping....what do you do when you find they are not feral and should not be returned? If you were to have seen this family outside, you would have guessed them feral and unadoptable. It makes me so angry someone did this to her in the first place and that up until now, I was not able to help her. I did not have room for three cats but I will find space and do the right thing for them. You can help by sharing their photos/info. I will update pics/info once they have settled in.
