TO ANYONE ON FACEBOOK - LOOK OUT FOR THIS WOMAN SELLING DOGS! Please do not allow Christina Poyner to sell puppies on this site. Christina Poyner is a Licensed Animal Rescue scammer!! I was looking for a puppy, something to fill the void after losing our 13yr old Chocolate Lab a week ago. She swore the puppy was fine, and that all she would need is to be fattened up explaining how she was the runt and was bullied away from the food bowl. She gave me the puppies so-called vaccination records to show she was cared for properly. The puppy she sold me was so beyond ill. She wouldnt eat. She discharged blood from both the bladder and bowel. I purchased the puppy in good faith and like any loving and caring new owner, I took my new pup to the vet. As the Vet walked into the exam room, the moment her eyes saw our little pup, her head and shoulders dropped. She examined our new baby and told us the puppy aside from being extremely malnourished (2.31 lbx) was infested with worms, had the Parvovirus, kennel cough and to try and save her would cost $300 to thoroughly diagnose and up to $1000 dollars between the hospital stay, IVs, and meds to even try to get the puppy over the poor health hump with no guarantees. Our new puppy is no longer with us BECAUSE OF CHRISTINA POYNER OF KANKAKEE, IL!! Her so called vaccination sheet was another LIE! She knew she sold me a very sick puppy and she purposely avoided any contact with me. Emails sent were never responded to, phone calls just dropped, no voicemail recording to leave a message. Yet, when I called from another phone or had a family member call, they did in fact get the opportunity to leave a message. Christina Poyner is a cold-hearted, scamming, COWARD!! I will make it my personal mission to shut her down! I have reported her to the Humane Society, the Kankakee County Animal Control, and the Dept of Agriculture. I am contacting each and every place where she has posted advertisements of puppies for adoption. Then, I plan to seek legal advice on suing her for the heartache, distress and financial loss this has caused my daughter and I. This puppy was supposed to bring joy to our lives after losing our 13yr old companion, and now it has only caused more heartache. Those poor animals in her supposed care are in grave danger, and I for one will not sit back and let her victimize another dog or another potential dog owner!!! Christina Poyner IS A MONSTER!!! Here is a response from the Humane Societys Amanda Grossom: I was able to find more information about Christina Poyner. As you mentioned, there are petitions and reviews online. I was also able to find that she had applied for a kennel license in Iroquois County in 2010, but was denied. She created a blog to defend herself and spoke about the zoning board denying a license. She remains licensed in the state of Illinois as an Animal Shelter though, so you could file a complaint with the IL Department of Agriculture. She has several different phone numbers and also goes by the name Paws and Claws Pet Rescue. I also noticed that she posts puppies on Facebook groups, besides Craigslist and other classifieds sites. I will attach a copy of the vet report as well.
