Cooney, Fire Chief DATE: September 12, 2014 SUBJECT: Promotion – Scott Fine / Richard Giansanti On behalf of the Board of Fire Commissioners, I am pleased to announce the promotion of; Captain SCOTT FINE to the rank of DIVISION FIRE CHIEF. FF- Former A/C RICHARD GIANSANTI to the rank of DIVISION FIRE CHIEF Congratulations Scott and Dick! Both promotions will take effect October 1st. Division Chief Fine will have the responsibilities of the Training Division as well as the FD liaison to the Office of Emergency Management. Chief Fine will continue to serve as the ‘uniform’ quartermaster. Division Chief Giansanti will have the responsibilities of the Safety and Hazardous Materials Division. Along with these promotions, other Chief Officer responsibility changes will take effect at the same time; Assistant Chief Brian Peck will assume the duties of Operations – overseeing the Company Officers as well as maintaining his roles as Communications Officer and other roles as assigned. Deputy Chief Bengtson will continue to oversee Apparatus, Testing and Company Five / Explorer Post 838. As we continue the Captain / Lieutenant promotional process, you can expect a few more promotions / transfers and a detailed outline of positions / responsibilities when completed.
