TO BE DESTROYED - 10/11/14 Manhattan Center -P ****HUNK NEEDING A NEW HOME*** A volunteer writes: So hunky and quiet in his kennel I waited all day to meet this handsome guy. Happy to be going out he pulls hard to get outside and take care of his business which he does right away. Hes a big bruiser of a boy, handsome in his slate gray shining coat. Hes a tank (and I mean that in a nice way), who may benefit from a harness vs a leash, and/or some leash training. Hes a bit shy, not ready to make eye contact or pose for pictures so Ill try again another time. Low key and keeping to himself for the most part he flinches with an initial touch but gradually accepts some petting. Staff knows him by name and calls out greetings as we head to the backyard. Right now hes an observer, not a participant, and may need more time to warm up. Magic focuses on smaller dogs and seems to be selective in his response to larger ones so a meet and greet is recommended if you have a resident dog. Hes neutered and ready to find the right family or person with whom to begin his new life. A volunteer updates: Mr. Magic is always so quiet in his kennel, looking up each time I pass hoping that this time will be the time I stop for him. It is! We head into the backyard where Magic enjoys some off leash time. Hes a big bruiser of a boy, happy to prance around, chasing a ball, coming in for cuddles and treats, stopping to sniff the air as someone nearby is cooking dinner. Magic needs a good spa day, but we gave him a sponge bath and he so enjoyed being stroked and petted all over, wiggling his body in pleasure as we wiped him down and toweled him off. He stood quietly with his tail wagging and his eyes shining with the pleasure of all the attention.
