TO BE DESTROYED 11/30/13 Manhattan Center My name is NENA. My Animal ID # is A0985228. I am a female tan and white pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 2 YEARS I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/17/2013 from NY 10465, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT 11/27/2013 Exam Type CAGE EXAM - Medical Rating is 3 C - MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is AVERAGE, Weight 47.4 LBS. showing signs of kennel cough coughing present as per Dr.Khan start on doxycycline 100mg PO SID for 10 days PET PROFILE MEMO No Pet Profile Memo 11/21/2013 WEB MEMO A volunteer writes: Nena is a medium size young female found as a stray, looking intensely at me in her kennel. She does not need to bark. She clearly makes me understand that she wants to go out and be in company. She is leashed without any issue and off we go to the yard where she eliminates as soon as we leave the building. Nena is a bit aloof at first and initially refuses my treats. After a short moment, she thinks better and takes them with obvious satisfaction. We are friends now. Nena is in fact quite sociable and welcomes any staff coming to say hello. Body wiggling, tail wagging, the whole nine yard. She can be anxious around other dogs while in a tight space but in the street, she seems fine meeting them. Too many canines in the same place. I imagine that it must be of concern to a number of pooches we have at the care center. Nena has a decent weight and is muscular without looking masculine. She could pass for a young athlete. She loves tennis balls for which she stands impatiently on her two hinds, leaps for it in the air and catches it without retrieving. Nena comes right away when called. She sits and stays on command and for treats. She is very friendly and even affectionate, abandoning herself in my lap and showering me with kisses. Nena is at the Manhattan Care Center, our little tomboy is looking for a master who will teach ball playing and be the best companion ever. 11/21/2013 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION - AVERAGE Exam Type BEHAVIOR Helper 984968 Nena was a bit shy, but social during her assessment.
