TO BE DESTROYED 7/3/14 Manhattan Center -P My name is MAXIMUS. My Animal ID # is A1003890. I am a male white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 10 MONTHS old. I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/20/2014 from NY 10469, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT 06/28/2014 Exam Type OBSERVATION - Medical Rating is 3 C - MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is EXPERIENCE, Weight 57.0 LBS. new wt 57lbs 06/20/2014 PET PROFILE MEMO 06/20/14 09:46hrs Stray - No animal pet profile information available. 06/25/2014 WEB MEMO A volunteer writes: I remember when Maximus joined us as a stray, scared, understandably a bit tense, and dirty. Nevertheless, his tail wagged as I gave him a treat, and he looked up at me with soulful eyes. I told him we would meet again, and I kept my promise. Maximus pulls hard on the leash to get out the door but seems housetrained, peeing once we were outside, leaving a clean kennel behind. Hes a smiling dog, his face always lit up in the big pittie grin we all love. He posed for photos, not minding being tethered, sitting when I asked him to, and gently taking his reward treats. His coat is all white, his nose black and looks like someone colored outside the lines as the black spills over just a bit onto his snout. So cute! Maximus pulls towards other dogs we see, and a meet and greet if you have a resident dog is recommended. A friendly guy, he wagged his tail at staff who were outside, hoping to make additional friends. Max (were friends now so I call him Max), is hoping to add you to his friends list.....ask to meet him today. Another volunteer writes: A big white head is the first thing I see as I aim for Maximus kennel. His body does not live up to his name, though , unless of course, Maximus finds his way to a caring and loving home. He came in all beat up, wearing calluses and dirty but thanksfully, he was given a bath and fed appropriately as he is quite skinny. Maximus is of course as hungry as a bear and waits anxiously for the next treat as he sits for them in front of me. He is a friendly character, comes, wagging his tail when I call him and whines a bit when I leave the pen to make a cozy bed in his den. He likes being petted and this is when I see for the first time a smile on his face.... Despite his poor condition, Maximus is a strong dog who pulls on the leash and goes toward other dogs big and small. His intentions are hard to read at this point. He seems housetrained, leaving behind a spotless kennel .He is not spooked by the camera. Indeed, Maximus seems to have been around people but does not appear to have lucked out so much with our kind until now... Maximus is at the Manhattan Care Center. This American Bulldog mix is waiting for you to meet him soon and make magic, bringing health and happiness into his life. 06/23/2014 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION - EXPERIENCE Exam Type BEHAVIOR Maximus pulls slightly on leash.
