TO LEAVE A MESSAGE OR NOT TO LEAVE A MESSAGE? That is the - TopicsExpress

TO LEAVE A MESSAGE OR NOT TO LEAVE A MESSAGE? That is the question..... Saw this article recently and have been experiencing more and more of my friends voice message boxes saying..... The voice messaging box belonging to.....fill in the blank.....is full and can no longer receive messages. I have to say that I too have sometimes fallen into the category to choose *not* to leave a message with my voice and to instead send a text. (Especially when it is more convenient and makes more sense) But the next question is....Are we losing the sacred connection of the voice in our interactions with each other? What is lost when we fail to express the voice with as much fluidity in life? I love hearing the timbre and energy of someones voice, and the connection of their emotions as they are speaking to me. I dont however like to hear someones rambling message about what they ate for dinner....yadda yadda........ Ive noticed now though that leaving messages on peoples machine will literally bring up a fear when before there was no one there. I wonder if other people are experiencing this type of connection to the voice when leaving messages. How can we shift the energy of fear into the energy of connection? I did find an incredible app that allows you to create voice threads with people that you want to connect to called Voxer, but it still feels underused by both me and the ones that I love. What is Voxer? It basically turns your phone into a walkie talkie and allows to instantly connect with a beloved of your choice without having to leave a message. That means it never cuts you off, or tells you that the message box is full. It literally gives you free reign to speak with as much connection as you desire. And.....you can even add pictures. This kind of play and interaction awakens connection in a totally new way. It allows for continuity to take place and for the intimacy of voice to touch you when you least expect. You can replay the vocal recordings as many times as you wish and even create a story of your love. Does anyone have any good Voxer encounters that theyd like to share? I want to start a voice revolution where we take back our freedom to connect more intimately through the voice. But we have to start somewhere. Here are my top three ideas on using voxer in a way that would create more intimacy. - Create a sacred pillow talk thread for your beloved to speak and share about the things that you were grateful in experiencing in the day, or just a place to talk dirty and create new intimacy and magnetic connection . - Learn to speak a new language by getting a pen pal in another country that you can exchange phrases with. Since Voxer also has a typing function you can get really good at spelling and grammar. - Create a poetry thread including your poetry friends to write a group poem as well as write it out, and even include images along the way. npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2014/10/23/358301467/please-do-not-leave-a-message-why-millennials-hate-voice-mail
