TO MY FRIENDS OF COLOR: This has started some discussion on a feed I am aware of today.... here is my thoughts ... I wanna hear from the people of color on my friends list, if you wouldnt mind :) (I value our friendship now and always) This is my response to the other feed :) I hope I got it right... its how I feel. Ok here it is in a nutshell.... we are white... we do not understand what it is like for someone who is not white... what they have to deal with everyday..... you want food you go to the store and buy it... no one looks at you like you are a thief because of your skin color..... if you are black and you go to the grocery store... already you are labeled a thief (dont kid yourself into thinking this does not happen in this day and age cause it sure as hell does, it also happens between black store owners and black patrons, we all have our predjudices) so you can not just walk away.... you need your damn food.... so you stand there and take the stares... the heavy sigh, because they have to deal with you in their store... I as a white person would be offended to be treated like that and would go off on whoever was chosen to watch over me.... I can cause Im white... if a person of color does that.... TROUBLE MAKER... so no matter what you do.... yer screwed. WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND.... sure there are white folks who say they do and try to show that they do... but to embrace and understand what it is like to be a person of color in a white world we will never understand. Watch TV for 1 hour, think to yourself.... Im a black person ... who can I relate to on this show??? Hmmm now yer getting it. When I was a kid there were NO Barbies except for the white one..... damn.... I think about it now and I know why people with color have the ass. If I were a black woman I would want you to see me as a beautiful :) black woman.... Im not like you and I dont want to be like you ... I AM ME. Accept me for who I am. Just like everyone else wants to be accepted for who they are. I dont want you to do anything out of the ordinary for me just accept me... pass no judgement until you get to know me... if I am an asshole call me an asshole. :) :) :) :) When you have dealt with this all your life would you have a problem with the race that is doing that to you???? Just my thoughts on the matter
