TO MY ODM ENTHUSIASTS Due to your high demands via E-mails, Face book and Twitter posts to vie for a post in the fourth coming ODM elections, this is to notify you that am not contesting for any position due to my personal reasons always stated in my open articles. It is my desire that as we embrace formal democracy, we must at the same time have to respect the morality of our institutions with the sole purpose of maintaining social stability and success. It is a fact that party elections come and go but the institutions of elections will always remain permanent and therefore, it is my prayer that the fans and fraternity of ODM should ask themselves the following questions, if surely they want success and interest of the party at heart:- 1) What do we want to achieve as a political party? 2) How can we bring together all the ODM members – both those in parliament/ senate and those who failed in the last elections to move in one direction? 3) What went wrong with our political party in 2007 and 2013? What support did the party had offer to its candidates and can still offer to those strong popular candidates but are financially challenged? 4) Who should be blamed for the failure of the party in the above mentioned years and what is the remedy? Am sure, if the above questions are properly answered, ODM as a party will have a ground in 2017 as opposed to the incoming elections in which a lot of people have shelved their personal interests and aspirations. Meanwhile I wish to thank Ken Obura, John Mbadi and Dalmas Otieno for seeing the reality after reading my article and putting their personal interest aside to embrace the party interests.
