TO SHEEP, OR NOT TO SHEEP: There are four candidates that make it through the pay-to-play election system, the democrat and republican both received sponsorship and backing from powerful corporate interests. Two other candidates represent the issues that Congress and the two-party system have failed to deliver on consistently over many election cycles (resulting in single digit approval ratings repeatedly). One, more right wing/libertarian, and one, more Progressive/Green. The latter two made it in partly because the campaign/debate/election system believes Americans are too shit scared and beat down to vote alternate candidates and consequently pose no threat in their estimation. What is the responsible thing to do if you do not want to see America continue on the path the duopoly has taken it? What is the best way to signal change, independence and commitment to progress? Would the failure of the alternative candidates to win in this election render the action of voting outside the fear driven choices useless? Would millions joining together to go against being manipulated by fear be worthless or might it create momentum? Is being counted on to be manipulated and coerced by fear really the moral, pragmatic, responsible thing to do?
