TO THE AFP AND PNP: In a comment to General Alan Luga this morning, I wrote this (please share with our troops): Sir, I had the opportunity to drive down the length of Roxas Boulevard so early this morning along the route to be taken by Pope Francis and I saw how our PNP lined the stretch so effectively to protect the Pope. As any soldier would think, I knew that the AFP personnel, who were largely out of sight, were also doing a tremendous job behind the scenes as they always do. To the men and women of our security services, congratulations for a job well done. And though anyone will probably say it goes with the job, I personally wish to thank each one of them for the sacrifices they had to make far earlier and far longer than anyone else did, so that the visit would be a resounding success! God bless the AFP and the PNP!
