TO THE BODY OF CHRIST This morning I was blessed with a fresh revelation that I want to share with you. The LORD began to share with me several scriptures. First He reminded me of the scripture where Jesus talks about there being 12 hours of daylight. (John 11:9) He says that these are the hours in which the work is accomplished. (John 9:4)Then He showed me the heart of this revelation in the parable he tells about the vineyard owner who goes out to find new workers for his field. (Matthew 20:1-16) When originally telling this parable Jesus focused on the fact that the last workers were paid the same as the first (speaking of the reward in God’s Kingdom) but this morning He revealed something else to me. He said, “Notice that in the parable as the day progressed I returned to the marketplace several times to retrieve more workers. I did this intentionally so that when the twelfth hour came there would be more workers in the field than there were at any other time of the day. You are in the twelfth hour. I am searching the marketplace for more workers to participate in the harvest. I do this because the harvest is precious. Once night comes there will be no more time to harvest and what remains in the field will be laid to waste.” Finally the LORD reminded me of His words spoken in Matthew 9:37-38 where He says, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” He said, “The harvest is of great value to the vineyard owner and it should be for us as well. Whether there are fifteen minutes of daylight or only one minute is not for you to know. What you need to know is that the light is fading and also the time remaining for the harvest.” The LORD Jesus has a question for you today. “Are you a participant in the harvest or are you standing in the marketplace waiting for someone to call you to work?” If you are in the marketplace, consider this your call to action. Just as the first workers who went before you will be paid, you too will receive a denarius. “There is a need for many workers because the harvest is vast and of great value. If you refuse to take part in it, know that there is a portion which will go to waste. It will not be brought into my Father’s storehouse. Instead it will be left out in the darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Believe me when I say I know how easy it is to get caught up in the concerns of this world. Tunnel vision sets in as we laser focus on just a few things which we see as important. Yet are these the things that the moth and rust will destroy? In the end we will all make an account for the talents we were entrusted with and how we used them whether that was for Kingdom work or solely for personal gain. On this day there will be no excuses as the LORD says, “Show Me the harvest you have brought in from my fields.” Do not waste the time that remains. Respond with me. “LORD, thank you for this revelation. It is evidence of Your character and Your great love that You continue sending out workers to reap Your harvest. I confess that I have been caught up in the things of this world and I repent. I choose and affirm before You this day that I will seek Your Kingdom. I ask that what moves Your heart, Jesus, will move mine as well. I ask that You place upon me a burden to complete Your Kingdom work. I ask that You bless me with the anointing to complete this task. Thank you for entrusting me with this task. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.” +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Scriptures cited in this post: John 9:4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. John 11:9-10 “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light. It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.” Matthew 20:1-9 (the parable goes on through verse 16) “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard. “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ So they went. “He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’ “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered. “He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’ “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’ “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. Matthew 9:37-38 “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
