TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN PUBLIC DISCLAIMER OF ENGR. PROSPER OKAFOR The Centre for Civic Education, a.k.a Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) hereby draw the attention of general public, donors, partners and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to the shady, illicit and fraudulent activities of one ENGR. PROSPER OKAFOR. Our attention has been drawn to the activities of the character, Prosper Okafor, who has been going around parading himself as TMG Board member and the Nasarawa State Coordinator of TMG, while purporting to represent TMG interest. For the avoidance of doubt, the aforementioned individual, who was a member of TMG Coordinating Committee (the Board), was suspended vide an October 22, 2014 letter along with his organisations: Centre for Development and Empowerment of Commercial Motor Cyclists (CEDECOM) and Crusader for Greater Nigeria (CFGN) from TMG by the Executive Committee pending the outcome of an investigation into his unsavoury and reprehensible conduct, especially with regard to his unethical and disruptive conduct in the implementation of the TMG Election Project in Nasarawa State. The Coordinating Committee (the Board) convened an emergency meeting on October 29, 2014 to conduct a hearing on the charges and suspension of Engr. Prosper Okafor. The Coordinating Committee which received oral and written presentations from Engr. Prosper, after due consideration, and in line with Section 7 (h) and Section 10 (c) of the TMG Constitution voted overwhelmingly to uphold the indefinite suspension handed down to Engr. Prosper Okafor. However, we have subsequently been alerted of Prosper Okafor’s use of TMG letter headed paper in his recent communication to some organisations in what appears a bid to swindle unsuspecting members of the public. TMG hereby calls on all members of the public, our partners and the entire civil society to be wary of any claims of the said Engr. Prosper Okafor as it relates to TMG interests and projects. As things stand, Prosper Okafor is neither authorized nor given the delegated powers to transact any business or undertake any negotiations on behalf of TMG.
