TODAY IN HIPHOP: On this day in 1981, Southern rapper, Michael Mike Jones was born in Houston, Texas. Before becoming a household name, Mike Jones was first affiliated with Swishahouse Records (Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire), then left to form his own label, Ice Age Entertainment. Mike Jones is best known for his marketing slogan and/or catchphrase MIKE JONES, WHO! MIKE JONES, WHO! and 281-330-8004. Though, it was 2004s Still Tippin which became a breakout hit for the southern rapper. In 2007, he released his second album Voice which produced three singles on Billboard charts. Currently, Mike Jones is on hiatus explaining financial disputes with his former label.
