In 1967—Tyrannosaurus Rex record a session for the BBC Radio 1 Top Gear Show, hosted by John Peel—the first group to do so without a recording contract. In 1970—Jim Morrison of The Doors is fined and sentenced to six months in jail after being found guilty of exposing himself during a gig in Miami. In 1971—John Lennon is at the top of the UK album chart with Imagine, which contains two thinly veiled attacks on former creative partner Paul McCartney in ‘How Do You Sleep?’ and ‘Crippled inside’. In 1990—Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose is released on $10,000 bail, after being arrested for allegedly hitting a neighbor over the head with a bottle. The incident happened after a complaint to the police about loud music coming from the singer’s house. In 1988—The original Black Sabbath line-up momentarily reunites to play ‘Paranoid’ on US TV’s David Letterman show. In 2007—Linda Stein, former co-manager of punk band The Ramones, is found beaten to death at her Manhattan apartment.
