TODAY IN THE PAST: APRIL 23, 1985 ATLANTA: With much fanfare, Coca-Cola introduces New Coke. The new formula differs from the old in two main ways: The substitution of corn syrup for cane sugar and the addition of crack cocaine in place of the traditional leaf cocaine from which the beverage derives its name. While blind taste tests confirm that most Americans absolutely love crack, a vocal group of nostalgics forces the company to reintroduce the older product under the name Coca-Cola: Classic Coke. Eventually, all forms of cocaine would be removed from Coca-Cola, although it should be noted that Moxie is still made with angel dust. —Judge John Hodgmans More Information Than You Require (2008) \|/ Reposted by: -H- Team /|\ Hodgmania
