Over the next few years her interest evolved into the only 100% avian practice in the Kansas City area. In 2007 she started Burge Bird Rescue, a nonprofit bird shelter and adoption center in a large room attached to her clinic that helped over 300 homeless birds in 2013 alone. She has a special interest in disaster response and animal sheltering, and recently started a waterfowl rescue team to save domestic ducks that have been abandoned in lakes. Also please welcome....
