TODAY: The equalization temperature this morning is 58 degrees. What this means is that upon the mixing of the atmosphere to a homogeneous mixture, temperatures will reach around 58 degrees. Then surface heating comes in and lifts the temperatures further. Current temperatures on the valley floor are 58 degrees in down town with 60 degrees felt at the air port under breezy conditions of 5 to 7 mph winds from the west. Temperatures today will be cooler then yesterday as through the afternoon hours, we have a weak front coming through our area. This front is followed by some cooler drier air that will be placed in our column. Behind this front, winds will shift from the west to the north and increase 10 to 15 mph. This front is derived from the low pressure north of Reno, currently positioned at the US / Canadian Border in Washington state.
