TODAY is March 11th. It has been three years to the day that the Tohoku earthquake, tsunami and ensuing nuclear disaster. That day will forever be etched on our hearts, those of us who were in Japan at the time, and those of us who love the country and its people. Much has happened since then: our daughter graduated HS, we moved to China and then the US, our granddaughter was born, I continued to recover from my skating accident, our son graduated, husband became an athlete while growing his career, all children left the nest, and all remain close. For the last year, Ive been steadily growing my fiction writing skills, and not coincidentally, one of the short stories I am most proud of centers on the Tohoku Earthquake. My hope is that those who read MY STORY Sniff, in the Writers Anarchy II edition, The end of the world as we wrote it will gain a personal sense of what it must have been like three years ago, in Tohoku Japan.
