TODAY is the National Alliance on Mental Illness walk. I STILL NEED YOUR HELP. namiwalks.nami.org/bethnorton I spent many years suffering from Severe depression and anxiety. I was not alone in my suffering and feeling helpless over as I call it the phantom disease or my mental illness , my family suffered too. A huge turning point for all of us was when my parents reached out for the help and support of NAMI Family Group. Through this program they were educated about the cycle of mental illness and found strength and personal hope through the other families they met and built a life long bond with. Seeing them reach out for help to manage their own suffering I found the hope and strength to do so myself. Acting quickly and eagerly at the opportunity for help out of state in California. There I was blessed enough to find NAMI orange county and learned I am never alone and to embrace humor as healthy. I quickly got recruited to assist in setting up their NAMI walk my first one. and Nomi Lonky took me under her wing. At some point I realized that I had stopped suffering from mental illness and began to live with the phantom disease as one would live the diabetes it is a health problem I have been taught to manage well and though there may still be tough times or rough moments, Life will go on, I will go on and so will the love and support of my family and good friends Thanks All, Beth Norton I am asking ALL my friends to donate whatever you can to help show your support in making my goal.
