TODAYS DEVOTIONAL GRACE IS NOT A LICENSE FOR LAZINESS August 23, 2014 By Dr. Isaiah & Lianna Wealth “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 corinthians 15 10 There is the general misconception that since God can do all things then you really do not need to do anything other than to wait. This ‘God will do it’ mentality is however not consistent with the Word of God. In fact, it contradicts the word of God. We see throughout scriptures that God’s promises only come to pass when the recipient plays his part in obedience to what God instructs. Noah’s Ark was not built by God; neither did God train David’s mighty men for battle. Paul in our text today also talks about how much he laboured in ministry, attributing his success to the grace of God. These men noticed that God had given them grace to accomplish a thing, then they put in all their time, energy and resources into making it happen. God’s Grace is given to us so we might labour! This Grace is like grease or oil that reduces friction in work, thereby making work easy and multiplying output. Going by this understanding, it is important that you develop a strong work culture or ethic that matches the level of grace or responsibility that God has given you. Go to work today ready to labour by Grace and Go to bed every day convinced that you have given your best to your job, your spouse and to God. The Grace of God is not a license for laziness; it multiplies the output from your labour. Glory to God! WE PROPHESY ON YOU TODAY (SAY AMEN TO THIS): Let the grace of God, multiply your results in Jesus name. PLAN TO: Consider if your labour matches with the level of grace upon your life. If no, take example from Apostle Paul today and act likewise. SAY: I decree and I declare that I accomplish more with the grace of God upon me.
