TODAYS DEVOTIONAL LESSON By: Towana L. Williams A Fresh Start Life has it share of ups and downs. Some of us have dealt with setbacks that seemed like they would never end. After being in darkness for so long, it may be hard for some of us to imagine, let alone to experience a fresh start. You may have suffered the lost of a loved one or lost your job, your home or a marriage. Some may have lost family to incarceration, or maybe you lost yourself due to depression, addictions or mental illness. Whatever the case, God has given you a fresh start. How do you know? Because you are still here on earth and fresh new opportunities are awaiting you. You can achieve this gift from God by first believing that you are worthy. The second step is to let go of where youve been and the acceptance of where you are right now. The third step is to embrace your fresh start, by living your life differently then you did in the past. A major part of a fresh start is learning from your pervious mistakes or choices and doing things in a manner that pleases God and nurtures your spirit. It means pursuing all of the good things that God has made available to you, along with developing a new mindset and breaking away from old emotional habits. Galatians 2:20 ESV I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. You cant be brand new while still maintaining the old you. Not everyone in your life will be apart of your fresh start and thats ok. Change isnt always easy, but when God elevates us, change becomes necessary. Your prayers have been answered and God has done His part. Now its time for you to do yours. Be encouraged beloveds! 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
