TODAYS SMS MESSAGES FROM READERS Editor, I thank the acting - TopicsExpress

TODAYS SMS MESSAGES FROM READERS Editor, I thank the acting President Dr Guy Scott for pardoning Hon George Mpombo. This man really inspires me academically and I believe this time around, there will be no more shenanigans which may take him to prison again. Lenin, Kabwe Editor, I concur with the writer of an SMS of December 21 about legal reform proposals that, just like the Supreme Court has seven judges handling a matter at a time, we should also have three judges to handle each case at High Court level to avoid unnecessary appeals. One wonders how a land dispute in Mkushi can take more than a year for a judge to make a ruling. It is said that justice delayed is justice denied. Albert Chanda, Mkushi Editor, Zambians have to be wary of the PF’s governance of inconsistencies and confusion. Yesterday, it seemed fine to fire 570 health workers but today, it’s alright to reinstate them. Not too long ago, it was not alright to pay Lap GreenN, but today, it’s okay to do so. Retirement age was recently put at 65 but today, there are promises that it will be revisited. It was okay to malign Bashilubemba just a while ago, but today, that too has changed. Look at the “mafias” and charlatans surrounding the PF presidential candidate! Zambians should vote wisely this time around and avoid a repeat of what we are seeing. Concerned patriot, Livingstone Editor, It is election time again and Zambians have been voting for the last 50 years. During these elections, the pattern of voting has either been to vote for a change of government or continuity. Going into this coming election, what will the Zambian people be voting for? Will it be change of government, continuity or for a leader who will unite the nation and bring economic development for the benefit of the Zambian people? The choice is ours and may God bless mother Zambia. Godfrey Ng’ambi, Lusaka Editor, The confusions in the MMD make very sad reading indeed. Blame should be on Muhabi Lungu. The way he has handled Nevers Mumba’s issues shows that he is neither a democrat nor a true nationalist but a tribalist. He has bulldozed the so-called NEC, that is if it does exist, and made them believe that Mumba, who was democraticaly elected, is undisciplined. Shame! E S Kombe, Nakonde Editor, I agree with your editorial of December 26, 2014. The UPND campaign is not effective as correctly observed. In Ndola, I don’t see them. If they think they have won, then they are mistaken because the PF is still popular on the Copperbelt. Ignore the PF on the Copperbelt to your own peril. V C Mununga, Ndola Editor, The courts have ruled that Nevers Mumba is the legitimate president of the MMD. Muhabi Lungu decided to convene an illegal meeting and the police took no action. If the police cannot effect the court’s ruling, who will? The police shouldn’t wait for Nevers Mumba to instruct them to persue that group that defied the court order. Josef Melumuka
