TODAYS SPIRIT MEAT DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY, 29TH JANUARY 2014 TOPIC:The Path Of The Destroyer Versus The Path Of The Believer - Eph. 2:10; Psalms 17:4; 1 Cor. 2:9 Let us look at Ephesians 2:10 in the Amplified Version again, “For we are Gods [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” We see two paths here namely: the path of the destroyer and the path of the believer. According to the plan of God, the path of the destroyer and the path of the believer are not supposed to cross. Anytime the path of the destroyer crosses the path of a human being, we see theft, death or destruction since he came to steal, to kill and to destroy. As long as you ensure that your path and that of the destroyer doesn’t cross, these three activities of the destroyer will not be fulfilled in your life. Sometimes bad things happen to faithful Christians and we don’t ask questions to find out why they happened so that we can prevent future reoccurrence. God does not want us to build our relationship with Him on emotions alone; He wants us to build it on the truth and the facts of the word of God and that is why He gave us the scriptures. The Amplified Bible helps us further Psalm 91: 11 as it explains “For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]” The devil cannot assault you when you are on your predestined paths and these you will walk in as long as you obey the written word of God and you serve His purpose on the earth. Prayer: Father, I receive the sensitivity to walk in the paths you have ordained for me. Help me so that my obedience will be complete and I will hold nothing back in serving you in Jesus name, amen. Bible in a year: Exo. 8:1-9:35 - Matt. 19:13-30 - Psalm 24:1-10 - Prov. 6:1-5
