TODAYS THE DAY! The first single off my new album KWELA is now available for download worldwide on all digital carriers (iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Google Play, +500 more) and in a limited special run at select records stores across South Africa, Europe, and Canada! You can also hear KWELA in heavy rotation on SiriusXM Radio in your car (WorldNation, World Beat Cafe, and Pop 141 channels) and on Jango, iTunes Radio, Pandora and Spotify on any mobile device. I recorded the new album over the last 14 months with the incredible talents of more than 100 South African musicians and singers as well as some of my closest most talented American and European friends. The thing Im most excited about with this album is that every single note, every single expression, tone and color, was played by a real-life human being, whether me or somebody I had the great pleasure to meet and work with during the course of the project. This single, also the title track from the record, was written in Johannesburg and recorded in Capetown, Hamburg, London, LA, Jakarta and Amsterdam late last year and features Jordynn Towne (lead vocals), Panos Kolias (accordion), Mike Holt (lead electric guitar), Glen Doll (harmonica), the fabulous Soweto Horns and the beautiful voices of the Capetown Junior Chorale. The standard full album edition of KWELA will be out this fall, and the Deluxe Edition will be out in a few months, both on Warner Bros./TABCO Records.
