TODAYS WORD OF BLESSING BY Stella Dhinakaran Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. Dearly beloved, The Lord delivers us from trials, protects us and blesses us. The God of Peace shall crush satan under His feet. We read that He offered Himself as the living sacrifice on the cross in order that we have peace in our life and the chastisement for our peace was upon Him (Isaiah 53:5). Hence when we ask and receive this divine peace from Him, the Lord will help us in such a way that the plans and schemes of the devil are thwarted that he will not come near us. For example, read the life of King David in the Old Testament! When he was a child, he was an ordinary shepherd. But his heart was aware of the love of the Lord. So he had the privilege of living close with God as a devoted man of God. Goliath, the giant and the leader of the Philistine army who was the cause of the fear of the Israelites army and its king, appeared to be an ordinary man in the eyes of David. Faith never comes by raising up vain questions. Only dejection comes through that. But out of his strong faith, David, the young lad, rose up with zeal saying, “Who is this man that he should defy the living God? The Lord might have been delighted over his zeal for Him. The Lord gave him the greatest grace of redeeming the Israelites by killing that man, not with sword and spear but with a stone. Peace comes in this way. Does David’s faith come into us when we languish without peace? How to receive this? The Bible says, “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17). Today, how long do we read the Bible? As we read His Word, divine zeal will arise in our hearts and the faith of David which made him declare, “The Lord is sufficient for me; Whom shall I fear?” will increase in us; the Lord will give us the strength to boldly do things that are pleasing to Him. This is the only way to overcome the trials. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, You are the Living Word. I trust in You. Please help me to meditate on your Word day and night. Let your Word increase my faith and give me the power to lead a life pleasing to You. Please give me divine strength to overcome the trials and enable me to lead a victorious life. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen. ----
