TODAYs GEM.....STORYTELLERS....the 2nd track off the Elephant Mountain mountain debut album.....this song is about as autobiographical as they come!! It was (and is) a reflection on my life up until now. When I was writing this song I remember thinking that people say, Wow time flies by, it seems like yesterday that such & such happened. I often think that as well BUT then when you sit down and take stock in your life you will realize A LOT has happened, and that life isnt really flying by, sometimes LIFE IS LONG!! ;) Now some of you may know I was quite the party-er at one time. I guess I was (1) living the life of a rockstar & (2) chasing that on stage high while I was off stage. Well that grew old and I then again realized that the best HIGH was music. Writing it, recording it & performing it!!! There is nothing that compares, its like NO OTHER!! So there was a time in my life after I left Brand New Sin when I had to make that decision, what was MORE important, the party or the MUSIC!! I think its obvious which one I choose!! I may also add that performing songs on stage that you personally wrote is one of the most VULNERABLE positions one can ever put themselves in. Bearing your feelings, thoughts and soul can often make you feel very, NAKED! But at the end of the day its rewarding, amazing and VERY therapeutic!.......ENJOY!! youtu.be/txkQSw72jK8
