TODAY’S MESSAGE xxxxxxxxxx DARE TO DREAM xxxxxxxxxx Sunday 28/12/14 Dream is a mind picture of a good future or what you want to become in life. You can call it purpose, target, vision or aspiration. Your dream forms your tomorrow. If you must succeed in life or attain the height you desire in your endeavours, you must be a dreamer of success. Every great achiever and outstanding explorer are all dreamers. Dream adds purpose to living and it enables you to have focus in life, business and ministry. Without a dream there is no future. Dream is the compass of purpose; it gives direction. God cannot help you accomplish nothing. With God and your pessimistic approach towards pursuit of your goals or dream, forgetting your past failure and setbacks, accomplishment is certain. Paul the apostle said “Brethren I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus” (Phil.3: 13.1.) The ‘mark’ determines where I am going. When you are not focused, you cannot make any impact or headway. Purpose gives you passion, and a sense of pursuit. In Numbers13: 1, 2, 17-20, 25-33. It is recorded that twelve men were sent to spy the land of Canaan. All of them saw obstacles as it were. Ten men saw the possibility, while the other two saw obstacles and possible opposition. What actually did they see? According to Apostle Mike Ibitoye: They saw - 1. GREAT GIANTS VS 33 2. GREAT CITIES VS.28 3. GRAPES VS.20, 27 4. GRASSHOPPPERS VS. 33 These obstacles melted their hearts and they cried and screamed in self-pity. But the remaining two namely Joshua and Caleb who had a dream saw the giants and great cities with a difference. They saw the greatness of their God rather than the obstacles and evident opposition. Some times people spend time telling God how great their problems are instead of telling their problem how big their God is. If you are possessed with the knowledge of the size of your God, all the threats of your enemy fade away into insignificance. Always see the size of your God greater than your situation and circumstances you are experiencing. When God gave the Israelites the promise of the land of Canaan, a place flowing with milk and honey, He knew they were giants and great cities to conquer before they possess the land. This implies that success does not fall like manna. You have to conquer your giants and great cities. When manna fell from heaven during the wilderness days of the Israelites, it did not fall in their stomachs; they made efforts by going to fetch the manna acting on guided principles and laws. If God is giving you giant to possess, then you are greater than giants. If there are great cities to possess then you are a great king. MEN WHO SAW VISION/DREAM Great dreams and vision make you great and pivots you to greater heights. • When Abraham saw the vision of God, things took a new turn. • Joseph had the dream of his future and knew there was hope. • Moses saw the invisible and refused the pleasure of the palace. • Elisha for-saw his coming ministry and abandoned his secular commitment. • Paul’s vision on his way to Damascus changed his life’s focus forever. Those people did the miraculous because they saw visions. What are you seeing concerning your future? WHEN YOU LOOSE YOUR VISION, YOU LOST THE PURPOSE FOR LIVING. • Alexander the great had a vision to conquer the world. And before he was thirty, he accomplished his goal, unfortunately, he lost his vision and liquor conquered him. • As long as Samson held to his call, the enemies were no matches for him, but Delilah quickly floored him when he forgot himself. • Lust of the flesh defeated David when he lost his vision for the glory of God. The best way to keep your vision is absolute focus; never giving in to distractions. I pray that 2015 will arise for your blessing as you stay focused on your God given dreams in Jesus’ name.
