TODAY’S SCRIPTURE 10/28/14 “Why then have You brought me out of the womb? Oh, that I had perished and no eye had seen me! I would have been as though I had not been. I would have been carried from the womb to the grave. Are not my days few? Cease! Leave me alone, that I may take a little comfort ...” (Job 10:18-20). PERSEVERING FAITH DESPAIR threatened to SMOTHER Job like a heavy SHROUD. DISASTERS left his CHILDREN dead, his SERVANTS were slaughtered, and his PROPERTY was ravaged. Agonizing BOILS covered his flesh. Even Job’s friends HEAPED misery onto his sagging shoulders by ACCUSING him of BRINGING death and destruction to his family through hidden SIN. No wonder he wished he had DIED in the womb. But as he SAT in sackcloth and ashes, Job did not KNOW the immeasurable GOOD that God would BRING to millions of others who also would SUFFER desperate trials. Jobs RESOLVE to serve God, even from the pit of destruction, has HELPED men and women through the centuries CONTINUE on with God DESPITE personal tragedies. Notice Jobs words in Job 13:15 “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.” CAUGHT between disaster and fluttering faith, believers have LOOKED to Jobs ordeal and FOUND encouragement to keep WALKING with God even when every step is a painful ordeal. APPLICATION Jobs FAITH helps us STAY the course, KEEP the faith, and LOOK beyond our heartache to the One who, in truth, is only a PRAYER away. Do you struggle with HEARTACHE? Job continued to WALK with God, and SO CAN you. –GWFT— Have a Fantastic and Blessed Day!!! JM
