TODAY’S SCRIPTURE 12/2/14 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (James 1:6). GODS PLUS SIGN A group of university STUDENTS were coming home after a NIGHT on the town. Their drunken LEADER noticed a cross on the steeple of a church. JESTING, he shouted, Ye mathematicians, look at GODS PLUS SIGN! Before that night was over, ONE of the students COMMITTED his life to the One who hung on that plus sign. Of the others in the crowd, SEVEN soon FOLLOWED in his steps. The cross of Christ is NOT a minus. His gospel is not NEGATIVE. FAITH is always POSITIVE. Faith expects from God what is beyond expectation. Faith either REMOVES mountains or TUNNELS through them. When we IDENTIFY with the power of Gods PLUS SIGN, then we can have FAITH which will not WAVER. “But let him ask in faith nothing wavering” (James 1:6). The New American Standard Bible RENDERS nothing wavering as without any doubt, If anyone could have DOUBTED, it would have been JAMES. He was a half-brother of Jesus, a SCEPTIC along with his other brothers (John 7:5). What changed the ROLE of James from a DOUBTER to a BELIEVER? Was it Gods PLUS SIGN? Most definitely! He was no longer a SCEPTIC, but now a SERVANT of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ (James 1:1). APPLICATION Positive FAITH in God is THINKING positively, TALKING positively, and LIVING positively.
