TODAY’S WORD: 20th March, 2014 Genesis 3:9-10 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. The word afraid –to be in the state of fear or to be frightened- was mentioned in the bible for the first time in the verse we are considering today. Before this time there was nothing like fear; no fear of anything or anyone. Eve spoke with the snake without being afraid of it, Adam was the one that named the entire animals, and he did this without fear. I am sure he would come very close to all the animals both domestic and wild and play with them without fear of any harm. God also came down every evening to fellowship with them. But when the word sin was introduced, fear too was introduced and Adam and his wife started hiding …And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden (Genesis 3:8). If you must eliminate fear in your life, first eliminate sin …The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). II Timothy 1:7;For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Fear was not in the original plan of God for us; meaning you can eliminate it from your life. For instance, if you speak the truth always, you will not be afraid of what you said last as there would be no need to remember it. Today, God will plant in your heart His Spirit; He will plant in you the Spirit of righteousness and of sound mind in Jesus name.
