TODAY’S WORD: 23rd June, 2013 Revelations 1:5-6 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. There can never be a greater love than that which Jesus showered upon us, the love that made Him wash us clean with no ordinary material but His most precious and costly blood …Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). After cleansing us with His blood, He also made us kings and priest unto our God. At some point in our lives we were lost in our sins (Isaiah 53:6; All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all), according to Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesians we were like people without hope in this world …That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world (Ephesians 2:12). This was our state before Jesus intervened by going willingly on that gruesome journey to the cross, shedding His blood to bring redemption to us. Praise the Lord! I John 3:1; Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. The love of the Lord towards me is so great. A song writer says ``I don’t know why Jesus loves me…… but am glad He did’’ …Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Praise the LORD!
