TODAY’S WORD: 3rd October, 2014 Luke 13:11-13 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. There is a spirit called the spirit of infirmity and its duty is to keep people in captivity. Our Lord Jesus met a woman in the synagogue who was bowed together for 18 years, she could not lift herself up to do so much for that 18 years. The aim of every sickness is to incapacitate a man, that is why if you are sick in your body or in your mind you are not able to do productively those things you ordinary would do. This also is the devil’s ministry …The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (John10:10a). This goes to show that most sickness if not all are controlled by the spirit of infirmity, even though sicknesses may have some physical explanations, the controlling spirit is still behind it. So no matter what explanation a sickness may have if you can destroy the controlling spirit by faith in prayers you will be free. James 1:14-15; Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Are you sick in your body or is your soul sick? Have you visited physicians with little or no improvement? I pray in the name of Jesus for your healing now. Pray with me: Father, any spirit of infirmity operating in my body or that of any member of my family that inhibits our productivity level, I cast them out never to return in Jesus name.
