TODAY’S WORD: 5th July, 2013 Luke 6:40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. (NKJV). Jesus Christ said in one of His teachings that …everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher..., inside this statement lies deep insight. Let’s consider it this way; if you are well trained you will not only have the knowledge your teacher has, you will equally command the influence and authority that he commands. First, let’s look at it from this angle. So many parents invest so much of their time and energy in building wealth, careers, estates, mighty establishments and their reputations just to hand them over to an untrained child of theirs. Will this child be able to handle the responsibility that will come with the transfer? You know just as I know that the answer will be a CAPITAL NO. Now looking from the child’s angle; a child of whose primary concern is to inherit his parent’s estates and not being careful to get the right training (both from the parents and/or otherwise) so as to manage them properly may eventually become the CEO/managing director but could end up being controlled by an ordinary messenger with experience. Galatians 4:1-2; Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. As long as you are operation untrained in any business, you are like a child and not too different from a servant. You can only command influence when you are well trained to know what your father(s) (both spiritual and in the natural) knows. Solomon’s advice: Proverbs 4:7; Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Pray with me: Father, today I choose to sit under the tutelage of your Spirit, teach me all I need to know to influence the world around me in Jesus name.
