TOMB OF MAY (Amarna) The Tomb of May is the nr. 14 of the South - TopicsExpress

TOMB OF MAY (Amarna) The Tomb of May is the nr. 14 of the South Necropolis of Akhetaten. May was vested with the titles of General of the Lord of the Two Lands, Fan-bearer to the right of the King, Royal scribe, Scribe of recruits, Steward of the House of Akhenaten in Heliopolis, etc... The decorations that adorn the tomb are the canonicals for the period: the Royal Family adoring the Aten (to the left of the entrance), Window of Appearances, etc... It should be noted that some decorations and some of the titles of May have been deleted and this suggests that the same may be disgraced to the King. The large pillared hall was never completed similarly to the Tomb of Ay. From the north-east of the pillared hall a short staircase leads to the burial chamber which is unfinished.
