TOMERONG NSW SOUTH COAST. This is. Long, in depth advert. I believe in providing ALL info upfront so nobodys time gets wasted. Essentially this is a contracted lifetime free lease ad. Henry is a 9/10 year (aged by dentist, which fits with known history) old Chestnut TB (unbranded) standing around 16hh. Henry came to me just over 7 weeks ago, after hed been deserted and surrendered by his owners. From what I know, theyd purchased him 6 years prior as total beginners. As a3 year old, he carried them safely. Over the years care reduced until he was totally deserted alone, on 100acres. His paddock mates were killed in a car accident so he was left in solitude. The tenant (none of this is their fault) was told by Henrys owners they just didnt want him. They didnt care where he went. Some good friends of mine received the call about him, but they werent in a position to take him. Which is when they contacted me to help. Having gone to see Henry they could tell me he was chestnut, about 10, seemed friendly and his feet were bad. So once we made triple sure his owners surrendered him I took my float to pick him up. To Henrys credit, he loaded and travelled like a champ. Henry spent the first few days boxed to settle in and to keep him separated. His worm burden was taken care of, I slowly built his diet up to activate his gut, feet were done, teeth done, and EMRT treatments began. He was a mess. Teeth had likely not been done in the 6 years, sharp hooks and ulcerated. His worm burden was horrendous, feet appalling and that coat. Ew. Which incidentally hides his condition on arrival. Henrys body was a mess, sacroiliac dysfunction, dehydrated fascia, roaching, c3 issues. He does have a calcified lump c3,c4 thats likely an old injury. Its however posing no issues. Unfortunately he may still need shoes on the back because they were let go for years, the healthy growth now is still growing in the wrong direction. But we are playing it by ear. Henry as you can see is starting to look well, with just muscle mass required now. Hes great to rug etc. but he is GREEN. he spent years with no contact. Hes handled it very well but as you can imagine has had the odd hiccup. He very had started basic ground work, and learning to use his body correctly. Hes an honest horse that I think is going to make a stellar interschools type ONCE hes be restarted fully. We put him under saddle for the first time yesterday and naturally he was humpy but nothing too dramatic. Im offering Henry for a lifetime contracted free lease. Ive tossed up keeping him given his agreeable nature and ease of training but with an agistment property, four children, a mare in full time work and an up and coming baby, its just not realistic. Henry paddocks alone or in a herd fine. I always have something next to them though. Hed even make a nice uncle. He can get worried at times, but hes not a reactionary horse. We are located at Tomerong South Coast NSW - nobody will be taking him unless youve met both myself and Henry. There may be an option to buy at a later date, but we can discuss that. The only thing id ask now is you bit his rugs from me. All were purchased specifically for Henry. (Mesh combo, cotton combo, cotton body, zilco doona body, weatherbeeta freestyle rainsheet mesh combo, about $350
