Respected Sir, SUB : Repairs/Renovation to Ashoorkhana & Chashma Bibi, 400 years Old Ashoorkhana of Qutub Shahi period, Municipal No. 19-3-305 situated near Falaknuma Palace, Bibi Ka Chashma, Falaknuma, Hyderabad – in dilapidated Condition – Wall collapsed due to rain in July/August 2012 Damaging about 3 houses adjacent to wall - debris still not Cleared – No action taken – no compensation granted for Damaged house NOR repairs of Wall undertaken – soliciting Appropriate action by all relevant departments such as the O/o District Collector Hyderabad, Chief Executive Officer A.P. Stae Wakf Board, The Chairman A.P.State Wakf Board - Reg. * * * * * * * I, Syed Hamed Hussain Jaffery, President & Founder, Anhra Pradesh Shiya Youth Confernce, Purani Haveli Hyderabad-2, most respectfully submit the following for your kind information, sagacious peusal and appropriate action in the matter on a War Footing Basis. That Ashoorkhana & Chashma Bibi, is a 400 years Old ancient Ashoorkhana of the Qutub Shahi period and bears Municipal No.19-3-305, near Falaknuma Palace, Bibi Ka Chashma, Falaknuma Hyderabad. However now it is in a very dilapidated condition and needs repairs and renovation, immediately. Since very old times every Thursday, Friday the devotees hold functions in the Ashoorkhana, attended by large number of persons irrespective of caste and creed. Moreover on the 30th day or the last day of Moharram, the Alam Mubarak is taken out in procession, regularly every year. This Ashoorkhana is presently being looked after and taken care by a widow namely, Syeda Zahra alias Syeda Mahjabeen; W/o Syed Moinuddin Saheb (Late). Despite being a sacred place, it is not recorded in the Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board, nor in the Archeology Department. I may be permitted to submit that it lacks basic amenities also, it has no water supply and hence potable /drinking water is not available here. Contd..on page (2) Page (2) The Niyazkhana is bounded by a very old Wall, admeasuring 40ft. long and 4ft. wide. SADLY, in the month of July and August 2012, on account of heavy rains. A portion of wall admeasuring 20ft. x 4ft collapsed, causing damage to about 3 Houses which were adjacent to the wall. FURTHER that the remaining wall admeasuring 20ft x 4ft. is also become very weak and worn out. There is every likelihood of this wall also collapsing at any time, which would cause great damage to all houses adjacent to this wall, and also could cause loss of life and properties of the inmates of these houses. Under the circumstances enumerated above it has become IMMINENT for all the relevant authorities to look into the matter, conduct spot inspection and do the needful without any further delay.
