TOMORROW: Amanda Lickers of Reclaim Turtle Island media will present the film KAHSATSTENHSERA, which focuses on anti-colonial resistance to tar sands infrastructure in so-called Canada, as well as short films on anti-fracking resistance in Elsipogtog. She has worked against tar sands expansion projects in her territories, as well as supporting grassroots people from neighbouring Nations, specifically around the Line 9 and Energy East pipelines. Following the films, there will be a presentation & discussion on the impacts of tar sands mining and refining on Indigenous communities, including a focus on the importance of integrating critical understandings of colonialism into environmental justice organizing.
