MES alumna Sau Wai Tai (2002), based in Hong Kong, has created a special piece for the exhibit entitled “Umbrella Infinite”. It includes an acrylic box with mirrors, broken pieces of umbrellas and an umbrella plugged from Mongkok (the most contested occupy spot in the current Umbrella Movement). Sau Wai’s MES project was also an installation of earthballs filled with wildflower seeds and placed at selected locations on the York campus that unmasked stories about nature, women, and people of colour in this place.
