TONIGHT (12-18-14), 7:00 PM RIDGECREST BAPTIST CHURCH GYM Prayer for the citizens and law enforcement officers of our Community, State, and Nation. I am thankful to live in one of the most racially diverse areas of the country, where people of all colors worship together, work together, go to school together, live together, play together, and socialize together. Even among our local law enforcement, there is great racial diversity. My own neighborhood includes residents who are White, Black, Hispanic, and Asian, socializing and getting along. Wherever I go in our town, I see diverse people interacting in personal and professional ways. I see respect, manners, and decency among all who seek to act in those ways. I also see a small percentage of people of all races who decide to act in ways that are outside our norms of decency, respect, and manners, seeking to ruin it for us all. I celebrate the great progress made in race relations just in my lifetime. Are we perfect? No. Is there still progress to be made? Yes. Should we work together to promote Equal Justice Under the Law? Definitely. Does our law enforcement locally and nationally do their best every day by putting their own lives on the line for the safety of all people who live in their community? Absolutely. Can we pray for one another and for those who are charged with keeping the peace, and for our nation to take positive steps forward? Yes!!
